A Unique Perk That Lets You Share Globalist Luxury Hyatt’s Guest of Honor

???? What Is “Guest of Honor”?

The GOH benefit allows World of Hyatt members—initially only Globalists—to book stays for themselves or others and extend Globalist-level in-hotel perks, such as:

  • Complimentary daily breakfast

  • Room upgrades (up to standard suite, if available)

  • Late check-out (usually until 4 pm)

  • Waived resort fees and free parking

  • Premium in-room Wi‑Fi, bottled water, and more

Previously, unlimited GOH bookings had to be made using points and required calling Hyatt. (GOH)

???? 2024 Updates: More Flexible, But Capped

Effective January 1, 2024, Hyatt revamped the GOH program through its Milestone Rewards system:

Nights/Points

GOH Awards Earned

40 nights or 65k base points

1 Award

60 nights or 100k base points (Globalist threshold)

2 more Awards

70, 80, 90, and 110–140 nights

+1 Award each

  • Members can now earn up to 10 awards per year
  • GOH certificates are valid through the end of the year earned plus 14 months (e.g., award earned in 2024 expires Feb 2026)
  • Unlimited bookings for current Globalists (as of end‑2023) received a one-time grant of 5 GOH awards expiring Feb 2025

???? Use Cash or Points; Book Online!

New flexibility allows GOH awards to be redeemed for both cash stays and award stays, and booking can now be done online or via the app—no call center needed

???? Share or Self-Use

GOH awards are transferable.

  1. Use them yourself if you’re an Explorist (40 nights) or above: a “taste” of Globalist benefits.

  2. Gift them to friends or family—just need their Hyatt ID and last name

????️ Perks for Both Guest and Giver

  • Guest: Receives full Globalist hotel perks for up to 7 consecutive nights .

  • Giver: Earns 1 elite qualifying night (EQN) after the stay is completed—capped at one per stay, regardless of length

⚠️ Important Notes & Best Practices

  • Suite Upgrade Awards and other Milestone Rewards cannot be combined with GOH—only one award per stay
  • GOH benefits apply only to Hyatt-owned or managed properties (excludes Hyatt Vacation Club and third-party collections)
  • Points aren’t earned on the 30% Globalist bonus (only standard 5x points) on paid stays
  • Booked under your name? To earn EQNs and use Suite Upgrade Awards, some Globalists prefer booking in their own name and adding guest names, rather than GOH

????‍♂️ Tips to Maximize Value

  • Redeem GOH on longer (up to 7-night) stays at hotels where Globalist perks are most impactful—free breakfast, suite upgrades, waived fees
  • For cash stays, GOH can reimburse resort fees or parking—a savvy move compared to using points .

  • Self-booking: Explorist members (40 nights) can use GOH for one stay at the Globalist level.

  • Share strategically: If you won’t reach Globalist status, a GOH gift to someone else still grants you an EQN—helpful for qualification

????️ In Summary

Hyatt’s Guest of Honor benefit remains one of travel’s most generous elite perks. With 2024 updates, it’s more versatile than ever—usable on cash stays, bookable online, self-applicable, and trackable via Milestone Rewards. While there's now a limit tied to nights, the expanded benefits and bonus elite nights strike a smart balance. Whether you're using it to treat loved ones or treat yourself, GOH is a key advantage for serious Hyatt travelers.

✅ Final Take

If you’re aiming for Globalist, GOH awards are golden for earning elite nights—and amazing for gifting premium stays. If you hit 40 nights, don’t overlook your GOH award—it could net you that suite upgrade you’ve been waiting for.
